High-Performance Hybrid Built for Everyday Driving
Audi has introduced its first ever high-performance plug-in hybrid RS model, marking a major step forward for electrified performance. The new Audi RS 5 delivers up to 639PS, reaches a top speed of 177mph, and can operate on pure electric power for everyday driving.
Available as both the Audi RS 5 Avant and Audi RS 5 Saloon, this model blends performance, efficiency and practicality — making it a compelling option for drivers considering personal contract hire (PCH) or business leasing.
Electrified RS Performance
At the core of the new RS 5 is a 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6 engine combined with a 130kW electric motor, working through a hybrid eight-speed gearbox to deliver strong, consistent power.
The 25.9kWh battery enables quiet electric driving for daily journeys, helping reduce fuel consumption and emissions — an important factor for both personal and company car users.
Key performance figures:
-
0–62mph in 3.6 seconds
-
Top speed of 177mph
-
AC charging up to 11kW
-
Full charge in approximately 2.5 hours
Audi’s intelligent thermal management system maintains optimal battery temperature to ensure reliable performance in all driving conditions.
For business users, the hybrid system offers a balance of performance and efficiency, while PCH drivers benefit from reduced running costs and everyday usability.
Advanced quattro with Dynamic Torque Control
The RS 5 introduces one of Audi’s most advanced drivetrain systems to date. For the first time in a production model, it features electro-mechanical torque vectoring with a rear transaxle, known as Dynamic Torque Control.
This system continuously adjusts torque distribution between the rear wheels, improving:
-
Cornering precision
-
Stability at higher speeds
-
Grip across varying road conditions
-
Driver confidence and control
Under normal driving, torque is split evenly. During cornering, power is directed to the outside rear wheel to stabilise the vehicle and improve handling response.
Built for Everyday Driving and Performance
The new RS 5 has been engineered to deliver comfort in daily driving while maintaining strong performance capability.
Key features include:
-
RS sport suspension with twin-valve shock absorbers
-
Water-to-air intercoolers to reduce intake temperatures
-
Testing across road, track and hydro pulse systems
-
Multiple selectable driving modes
Drivers can view detailed route and performance data via the 14.5-inch MMI touch display, including track sector and lap time analysis. A 10.9-inch passenger display allows the passenger to assist with navigation and vehicle functions, enhancing the digital experience.
Distinctive RS Design
The RS 5 features a wide, muscular stance and signature RS styling, including:
-
Three-dimensional Singleframe honeycomb grille
-
Sculpted wheel arches for a powerful presence
-
RS sport exhaust with oval tailpipes
-
Aerodynamic rear diffuser
-
Darkened Matrix LED headlights with checkered-flag light signature
Customers can choose from nine exterior colours, with additional customisation available.
The optional Audi Sport package adds:
-
Dynamic front and rear bumpers
-
Two-tone diamond-cut 21-inch phantom black wheels
-
Serpentine green interior stitching
Inside, the RS 5 combines performance and comfort with sports seats featuring honeycomb quilting, electric adjustment and massage functionality, along with five interior design options.
Flexible Driving Modes
The RS 5 adapts to different driving situations through selectable drive modes:
-
Dynamic mode for sharper throttle and steering response
-
RS Torque Rear mode for maximum rear bias and controlled drift capability on closed courses
-
RS Sport mode for strong propulsion and high-speed control
-
RS Individual mode allowing drivers to customise steering, suspension, throttle response, sound, ESC and torque vectoring
This flexibility makes the RS 5 suitable for both everyday electric driving and performance-focused driving when required.
A Strong Option for PCH and Business Leasing
With its combination of electrified efficiency, advanced technology and everyday usability, the new Audi RS 5 is well suited to both personal contract hire (PCH) and business lease customers looking for a high-performance vehicle with lower emissions and modern hybrid capability.
